Elpidio De Leon is the owner, co-founder, and President of C.R.I.M.M.E.S. Investigations
& Security Consultants LLC. He began his career in 1985 assigned to the 41st precinct until 1988.
He was then assigned to Manhattan North Tactical Narcotics Team as an investigator, working closely with confidential
informants, undercover officers, Manhattan District Attorney’s, and United States Federal Prosecutors, in the apprehension
and prosecution of drug trafficking felons. In 1993 he was assigned to the 30th Detective Squad, where
he investigated homicides, felonious assaults, robberies, burglaries, grand larcenies, kidnappings, rapes and
bias incidents. He was promoted to Detective 2nd grade in 2002 after assisting New Jersey Law enforcement
officers in the apprehension of three men wanted for shooting an off duty New Jersey Police Officer.
During his fifteen year tenure with the 30th squad he furthered his training in: homicides, career
criminal investigations, sex crimes, domestic violence, missing persons, computer forensics, crime scene investigation,
kidnapping, and interrogation. He also received on the field training in: dignitary/diplomatic escort and security,
rapid response and tactical mobilization. He was an initial responder on September 11, 2001, searching for, assisting,
and administering aid to the injured. The NYPD recognized his achievements in 2006 and promoted him to Detective
1st grade. He has traveled in and out of the country to interview people and bring back some of New
York’s most wanted felons. He retired in 2008.
